Thick and zesty marinara spaghetti sauce recipe
Last Updated on
This is my all-time favorite marinara sauce recipe! It’s thick and zesty, and full of flavor. The best part is, it’s so easy to make. Simply combine all of the ingredients in a pot and let it simmer. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a delicious sauce that’s perfect for pasta, vegetables, or anything else you can think of.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes
1 can (6 oz) of tomato paste
1/2 cup of chopped onion
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of dried basil
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
Simply combine all of these ingredients in a pot over medium heat. Once it starts to simmer, turn the heat down to low and let it cook for about 30 minutes. That’s it! You now have a delicious marinara sauce that’s perfect for any occasion.
Tip: If you want a really thick sauce, add an additional can of tomato paste. If you want it to be thinner, add a bit of water or chicken broth. And if you want it to be even more flavorful, feel free to add additional herbs and spices to taste
