progress
Nostalgic nut slices from Czechoslovakian cookbooks.
1.
Beat softened butter with granulated sugar until creamy. Progressively (one at a time) beat in the egg yolks.
2.
In three parts, then incorporate the flour mixed with baking powder and work into a smooth dough, which you roll out on a floured board into a rectangle.
3.
Using a rolling pin, transfer the dough to a baking tray lined with baking paper and roll out or spread directly on the tray to cover the entire surface of the tray.
4.
Spread the jam over the dough and leave to stand.
5.
Do not whisk the whites. Just stir in the icing sugar and ground nuts.
6.
Spread the nut mixture over the jam dough with a spatula and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for about 20 to 25 minutes.
7.
Cut the cake into small squares once cooled.
