A classic favourite dish we grew up on. A very simple yet very tasty lunch or dinner. A great hot main dish that really doesn’t cost you a lot of effort… 1. First thing to do is cook the rice halfway through. You only need about 2dl of water. Leave the finished rice to cool.
2.
While the rice is cooling, cut the kernels out of the peppers. Exactly how many peppers you will need for stuffing depends on their size 🙂
3.
To the cooled rice add minced meat, egg , black pepper, basil, paprika, cumin and salt as needed. Stir well and fill the whole with the pepper mixture.
4.
In a saucepan, make a classic stir fry with oil and flour. Add the thick tomato puree-preferably a paste-and let it sizzle together for a while. Finally, pour in the desired amount of water, depending on how thick you want the juice 🙂 I used 2L of water.
5.
Add bay leaves, peppercorns, paprika, cumin and salt to taste. Bring to a boil and only now put all the peppers. Cover and let it cook slowly from the boiling point for about 30 minutes. After the time is up, you can check the peppers by pricking them.
6.
Finally, season the whole dish with a little sugar, stir and serve 😉 It is best with bread, but also with potatoes, or even with dumplings. Have a good taste !
