Savoury oat porridge with cottage cheese

1/2 cup oatmeal 1 cup boiling water 50 g cottage cheese crushed steamed nuts onion, garlic, salt, pepper, parsley ground sweet paprika 1 tbsp ghee butter/oil chives for garnish ground cumin

Convince yourself that oatmeal doesn’t have to be just sweet and make this delicious savory oatmeal using my recipe. Instead of cottage cheese you can use any grated cheese. The porridge is quite filling, so you can also have it as a lunch.

Fry the finely chopped onions in hot ghee butter until golden brown.

Add crushed nuts , oatmeal and pour boiling water over it. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Then season with salt, pepper, ground red pepper, ground cumin and garlic.

When the water has evaporated, add the cottage cheese and herbs, stir everything together. Simmer for a few more minutes and serve immediately with tomatoes .
