The most famous sweet chocolate cake from Vienna decorated with chocolate icing.
Ingredients:

Procedure:
1. Beat the softened butter with half the sugar until foamy, stir in the warmed chocolate and gradually stir in the egg yolks
2. Beat the egg whites with the snow, add the sugar and beat until stiff
3. Stir the snow into the chocolate batter at the same time as the sifted plain flour and vanilla sugar, place in a buttered and floured cake tin and bake in a moderately heated oven (170 °C)
4. Cut the cooled cake into two round sheets, join them with jam and pour a thick layer of chocolate icing.
Icing preparation:
5. Dissolve the caster sugar in 3 tablespoons of cold water, bring to the boil and cook until the sugar stretches like a thread
6. Meanwhile, heat the chocolate in a bowl placed in a warm water bath, add it to the boiled sugar and stir until the icing is smooth
7. Use immediately.
Note:
Water bath – Place the container with the food in a pot half filled with hot water, keeping it just below boiling point.
