Roasted turkey drumsticks in butter and herbs, cardboard

The combination of Old Bohemian cardboard and golden baked turkey legs tastes great! A good idea for a hearty hot lunch.

Ingredients:

Range for 4 servings: 4 pcs turkey drumsticks (lower thighs) 80 g of liver 3-4 tbsp butter 1 bunch of fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, oregano, sage) a pinch each of dried herbs (marjoram, thyme, rosemary…) water for pouring salt On cardboard: 600 g of potatoes

250 g of pickled cabbage 50 g Sabatec bacon (or other) 2 pcs small onions 1 tbsp sugar (amount is approximate, depends on the acidity of the cabbage and the taste of the diner) 1 tbsp lard water salt as needed

Procedure:

Salt and season the drumsticks, cut the bacon into noodles and place in a baking dish with 2 tablespoons of butter, herbs and drumsticks

Add about 200 ml of water, cover and bake in the oven at 200 °C for about 1 hour, basting with the fat during baking, if necessary. Add water

Remove the lid, reduce the temperature to 180 °C and bake for another 1 hour, again, now more often, basting with fat, turning and basting as needed

Finally add the remaining butter and turn off the oven.

Prepare the cardboard:

Cut the peeled potatoes into cubes and boil them in salted water until tender

Place the lard, diced bacon and onion in a casserole and fry until golden brown

.Add the cabbage, sugar to taste, salt if necessary, pour a little water and simmer until tender

Add the cooked potatoes with a spoonful of lard and mash

Add to the cabbage and mix thoroughly.
