Ingredients:
1 lb. of all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
1 cup of warm water
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the water until the dough forms a ball.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 12 balls and flatten each one with your hand.
Place onto a lightly greased baking sheet and cover with a clean towel.
Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bake the tortillas for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
You can use these delicious tortillas for all sorts of things! Try them with some avocado and tomato for a quick and easy meal. Or, if you’re feeling fancy, try them with some chorizo and eggs
