Recipe for tomato sauce and tomato paste in chilli made with deer meat and ground chuck

In this recipe we will be using tomato sauce and tomato paste to give our chilli its wonderfully rich flavor. We’ve also added in some deer meat and ground chuck to really give it that extra yumminess! Here’s what you’ll need:
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-2 cups diced onion
-1 teaspoon garlic powder
-2 tablespoons chili powder
-1 teaspoon cumin
-1 tablespoon sugar
-2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
-1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
-3 cups water
-2 lbs deer meat, ground
-1 lb ground chuck
-Salt and pepper to taste
In a large pot or dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot. Add in the onions and garlic powder, and cook until the onions are translucent. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, sugar, tomato sauce, tomato paste and water. Mix well and bring to a boil. Add the deer meat and ground chuck, and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is cooked through.
This chilli is great served over rice or pasta, or even on its own
