Recipe for mixing old red spaghetti sauce with new spaghetti sauce
Last Updated on
We’ve all been there. You’re scrounging through the pantry and fridge, trying to piece together a meal with what you have on hand. Suddenly, you spot an old jar of red spaghetti sauce. The expiration date is long past, but it looks like it’s still good. And then you see a new jar of spaghetti sauce, still unopened. What do you do?
The first thing to do is check the ingredients list on both sauces. Make sure they’re compatible before you start mixing. Once you’ve confirmed that they’ll work together, it’s time to start cooking.
Instructions:
1. Pour both sauces into a pot or Dutch oven and stir to combine.
2. Put the pot on the stove over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer.
3. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, or until it’s heated through.
4. Serve the sauce over your favorite pasta dish.
This recipe is a great way to use up an old jar of sauce that you might otherwise throw away. And it’ll save you from having to open a new jar of sauce, which can come in handy if you’re trying to stretch your food budget
