Recipe for meatloaf gravy
Last Updated on
There are many recipes for meatloaf gravy, but this is my favorite. This gravy is perfect for smothering over meatloaf, mashed potatoes, or any other comfort food. The best part is that it only takes a few minutes to make!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1/4 cup (60 ml) all-purpose flour
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and water until smooth.
Add the flour mixture, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to a medium saucepan. whisk together over medium heat until the gravy comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.
Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
Pour the gravy over your favorite comfort food and enjoy!
Here are some tips for making the perfect meatloaf gravy:
If the gravy is too thick, add more beef broth until it reaches the desired consistency.
If the gravy is too thin, add more flour one tablespoon at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.
Make sure to taste the gravy and adjust the seasoning as necessary. I like to add a little extra Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor
