Chicken cordon bleu is a classic dish that is usually made with chicken breast, ham, and cheese. This dish is usually baked or pan-fried. But why not try something different and make it in a pastry puff?
This recipe is fairly simple and only requires a few ingredients. You will need:
1 chicken breast, thinly sliced
3 slices of ham
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Lay out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
Place the chicken slices on the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
Top with the ham and cheese.
Fold the puff pastry over the toppings, sealing the edges with a fork.
Cut a few slits in the top of the pastry to vent.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Brush over the top of the pastry.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
This recipe can be served as an appetizer or main dish. Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables. Enjoy!
