You don’t even need a half for this recipe. You’ll have a quick, no-rise dough ready in minutes. The flavor is great, just the dough isn’t as tender as if you use yeast. For a flash dinner, however, it’s a great alternative.
1.
Place all the ingredients for the dough in one bowl. Work them into a pizza dough. It needs to be more elastic in consistency than pasta dough, so if it’s very dry, add a little more water. Tip: If you don’t have time, put all the ingredients in a food chopper or blender and it will work the dough for you in under a minute
2.
Place the hot dough on a floured board and then roll it out into a thinner pancake. The thickness will depend on whether you prefer a thin Italian-style pizza dough or a thicker American-style pizza dough.
3.
If you’ve been making the dough in the chopper, just wipe it out and get it ready to make the tomato sauce. Open the can and pour it into the container. Add garlic, a handful of fresh basil, salt, pepper, a few drops of olive oil and a teaspoon or so of vinegar. Run it through and you have a ready-made sauce. Tip: If you don’t have enough time, use ready-made ketchup.
4.
Put greaseproof paper on a baking tray, place the dough on top and brush with the sauce. Now add the garnish of your choice. We went with shredded mozzarella and dry salami. We sprinkled the top with chilli, some parmesan cheese and ground cumin, which gave it an interesting flavour.
5.
Place the pizza in the oven preheated to the highest temperature and bake until the edges and bottom are light brown.
