Quick spelt wholemeal bread

Ingredients:

1 kg of wholemeal spelt flour 500 ml warm water 200 ml buttermilk 1 tbsp of Brotklee or bread spice 2 tsp salt 1 tsp dried yeast

Procedure:

  • Mix the dry yeast dissolved in the water well with the other ingredients and let stand for a few hours.
  • When the dough has doubled in volume, knead again to form two loaves. Place them on a baking sheet and let them stand again for about half an hour.
  • In a preheated oven, bake the whole wheat bread for about 5 minutes at 250° C. Then reduce the temperature to 180° C and bake for another 50 minutes.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a rack.
