Potatoes with peas

6 pcs potatoes 200 ml green peas 1 pcs red onion 1 pcs tomato 4 cloves garlic 1 tsp fresh grated ginger 1 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp ground chillies 200 ml water pcs salt 1 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp ground coriander 1 tsp clarified butter pcs bunch of parsley
procedure
1. In a deep frying pan, saute the butter /do not foam/, reduce the fire and add the Roman cumin seeds and let them crackle. 2. Add the turmeric and stir. Add grated ginger and finely chopped garlic and saute for 2 minutes. Next, add the finely chopped onion and sauté until the onion browns a bit, about 8-10 minutes. It should be stirred frequently. 3. Add the finely chopped tomato, ground coriander, chili pepper and stir well. Cover the pan, saute the onion and tomato on low heat for 5 minutes. 4. Add the peeled, chopped potatoes, thawed peas, salt and 200ml water. Bring the water to the boil, reduce the heat, cover the pan and cook the potatoes and peas for about 20 minutes, until tender. 5. Add the garam masala, chopped parsley, stir well, reheat and remove from the heat. 6. Drain the water if necessary. Cover the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow all the flavours to combine. I served this with chicken breasts.
