This is a simple recipe for pierogi. You don’t need an egg and you can make the base into puffs too. You can make them plain, just spread with butter or choose the topping of your choice. You can also make a savoury version of the pierogi. 1. Cut the rolls into rounds, put them in a bowl and pour the milk over them so that they soak up the milk, but do not float in the milk.Let them stand for about 10 min, which is quite enough. 2. Then add flour.Put enough flour so that the dough is not too stiff and not too thin.Just like when you make “classic” pierogi, e.g. from potato dough. 3. Then put the dough on the board and work it out,so that it is nice and smooth.Roll out the dough on the board,cut out rounds and fill them.I chose a sweet filling.I put plums with compote and a cube of boiled chocolate.(If you don’t want to roll the dough,you can make it into balls to spread and fill,or you can make it into rounds.)Fold the rounds that you have already filled into poly and pat the edges together. 4. In the meantime, we put salted water on the stove and boil 3-4 of them.The uniqueness of this dough is also evidenced by the fact that not a single pirôžtek will not stick during cooking. While the pierogi are cooking,I also prepare cold water in the pot. When the dumplings are cooked, I immediately take them out with a strainer into the prepared cold water and drain them immediately, it is good for this reason, that when we do not put sprinkles they do not stick together. 5. Prepare the sprinkles,I used poppy seeds with powdered sugar.Who likes breadcrumbs,you can fry them,or just grease them with pure butter. I brushed the butter on the dumplings,sprinkled with poppy seeds and mixed them in a bowl. When serving,who likes can add cottage cheese.As I wrote in the introduction,we can also make a savoury version.It all depends on the imagination of the person.
