Peas with smoked meat

Simple, tasty recipe from Bavarian cuisine. It is peas cooked together with smoked meat, it is cut into cubes and together with drained horseradish fried in onions and cracked bacon.

Ingredients:

500 g of yellow peas 250 g of smoked meat 50 g of bacon 2 pcs garlic cloves 1 pk large onion bean leaf Mayonnaise water pepper

Procedure:

Soak the peas in cold water overnight

The next day, add the smoked meat and bay leaf to the peas and cook under a lid until tender

Remove the smoked meat, skim off the water, rinse the peas and set aside, cut the smoked meat into cubes

Fry the chopped onion until golden brown on the rendered bacon, add the cubes of smoked meat, cooked peas, mix everything, season with salt, pepper, marjoram, grated garlic, let it warm up

Serve the dish with fermented white or red cabbage or pickled cucumber.
