Pea soup with bacon and croutons

Don’t you like fish soup? Never mind! Cook a delicious Christmas pea soup this Christmas, complete with bacon and pastry croutons.

Ingredients:

about 200 g of organic peas about 100 g of organic quality bacon 4 pcs strips of organic garlic 1 pcs bio onions 1 l bio broth 1 handful bio marjoram 4 tbsp bio lard organic bread for croutons bio pepper salt

Procedure:

Rinse and soak the peas in cold water for several hours – ideally the day before.

Clean and dice the onions, and the bacon as well. Peel and thinly slice the garlic.

Heat a saucepan with lard and fry the bacon first and add the onion after a while. Later put the garlic. After about two minutes add the peas and pour in the stock. Cook until softened.

Next, blend the soup. Season with salt, pepper and marjoram.

Cut the bread into cubes and fry in a dry frying pan until golden brown. And if you want to be really creative, you can cut stars out of the pastry instead of cubes.
