Marinated salmon sticks with red cabbage
As you know, in November we had another Recipe Box Cooking School. We prepared a lot of different delicious meals and for one of the courses we decided to cook fish. While last time we made salmon in brine, this time we made a marinated salmon steak with pan-roasted red cabbage.
For our blog readers, you will already be familiar with M.V.Wool. It’s a family business with a capital ‘V’. It is run by three generations of the family. Their fish products are always of very high quality and very tasty. That is why they chose the salmon steak, which they kindly gave us to cook. If the salmon steak has already got your mouth watering, then you might as well head straight to Mati’s Fish Shop, where you’ll find more than just salmon.
So why is salmon good to eat? Salmon steak, for example, is good for you because it’s rich in protein and vitamins. It also contains minerals and fatty acids. Just like other types of fish. There are many ways to prepare salmon. We decided to cook it in the oven because, again, there were many participants in the cookery school, which made the oven much more convenient. You can get more done in less time, and let’s face it, who wouldn’t like salmon in the oven.
Salmon steak is a dish that is easy to prepare and very easy to serve. And when the fish is ready, everyone can pick up a piece to go. If you put the whole fish in the oven, it’s a bit awkward for people to go and get it for themselves afterwards. Plus, the salmon steak looks much prettier on the plate. If the salmon steak alone looks a bit sad. That’s why we prepared roasted red cabbage on the side. Red cabbage is one of the most useful Vegetable Recipes and the whole dish looks much more colourful. Try it yourself and let us know how it turned out.
