Marinated herring with ginger and horseradish

Preparation of classic herring according to a recipe from Swedish cuisine. These are marinated herrings marinated in liquor with mustard seeds, onion, carrot, horseradish and ginger pieces.

Ingredients:

2 pcs (400g-500g) large herrings 1 pcs large onions 1 pc carrots 1 pc piece of horseradish 1 pc piece of ginger 1 tsp mustard seed For the marinade: 1 dl of wine vinegar 1 dl water 2 pcs bay leaves 2 pcs of allspice 2 tbsp sugar

Procedure:

Slit the herrings lengthwise from the anus to the head, remove the guts, cut off the tails and heads, slit lengthwise, soak in cold water for 12 hours.

The next day, dry the soaked herrings and cut into 2 cm slices.

In a bowl, mix the slices with sliced onion, carrot noodles, horseradish and ginger slices, mustard seed. Make a marinade from the above ingredients and let it cool.

Place the mushrooms and Vegetable Recipes in a jar and pour the cold marinade over them and store in the fridge.
