Marinated herring

Marinierte Haringe, that’s the original name of the German recipe. It is 12 hours soaked herrings, dried, fried in oil, then marinated for another 12 hours.

1. Soak the herrings in cold water for 12 hours, then drain the water, dry the fish, cut in half and bone it 2. Cut the cooled fish into strips and place in a bowl
4. Prepare a marinade of cream, mustard, vinegar, pepper and lemon juice, pour this marinade over the fish strips and leave to marinate for 12 hours
