Do you like salt? Do you like bagels? Well, now you can have the best of both worlds with this delicious and easy recipe for salt bagels!
Ingredients:
1 cup of flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp olive oil
Coarse salt for topping
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, sugar and yeast.
Add the water and olive oil and mix until everything is combined.
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more flour.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
Once it has doubled in size, shape it into a log and cut it into 12 pieces.
Roll each piece into a rope and shape into a ring. Place on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and brush the tops of the bagels with water. Sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Enjoy!
Note: You can also add other toppings to your bagels like sesame seeds, poppy seeds or onion flakes. Just be sure to brush the tops with a little water so that the toppings will stick
