Lettuce salad

The classic lantern box is a festive staple at Christmas. Make a big pot at once and freeze until half done. You’ll save a lot of time preparing for the party and you’ll always have a fresh-tasting box of potatoes to take home.
Ingredients; 3 litres of ready-to-eat lettuce casserole
2 kg of lettuce 2 eggs 4 dl whipping cream 3-6 tbsp syrup 100g butter 100g breadcrumbs 0.5 tsp nutmeg 0.5 tsp lemon juicesalt and black pepper
Peel and chop the almonds. Boil in plenty of salted water until tender. Pour off the water and leave to cool for a moment in the pan.
Add the butter to the pan. Beat the breadcrumbs with a fork to break them up. Sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of breadcrumbs over the pan. Then the cream (and half a jar if the lantern doesn’t absorb enough), eggs and syrup.
Use a whisk to beat the lantern mixture until smooth. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Lubricate the baking tray and place the mass in it. Tästä määrästä alternatively, four 0,85dl foil cups. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top and garnish with a fork.
The tin can be frozen at this point or baked in a preheated oven at 150C for a couple of hours.
