A properly braised chopped roast beef is a great treat. Serve it with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes and peas.
Ingredients for 8 people
1 kg of beef giblets or chops 1 teaspoon of tomato paste 2 tablespoons of butter 1 tablespoon of wheat flour 3 onions 2 carrots 6 allspice 1 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of cream 1 pound of chives
Tip: Peas are a great light accompaniment to a hearty casserole
Split the onion finely. Put in a casserole with butter and sauté for a moment until sweet. Cut the chopped beef into dice-sized cubes and add to the pot. Fry the tops for a few minutes. Flour with wheat flour.
Add the tomato paste to the casserole. Cut the carrots into cubes and add to the stew. Season with salt and allspice. Add enough water to cover the meat.
Simmer the chops under the lid for a couple of hours. Stir in the water and add a splash of water if the food is in danger of drying out.
Mix the chops with a splash of cream. Leave to cook for a while and garnish with chives.
