Bacon meatballs are, as the name suggests, meatballs with bacon. The bacon gives the meatballs a delicious full flavour and juiciness. They are best served with tomato sauce, mashed potatoes or pasta.
Ingredients for four
400g ground beef 100g bacon 1 egg 1 dl breadcrumbs 20 ground green peppercorns 2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp wheat flour 1 dl cream 2 tbsp tomato puree 1 tbsp soy 1 tsp sugar
Cut the bacon very finely. Mix the meatball dough according to the recipe and set aside to cook for 30 minutes.
Create a large frying pan and start to put some oil in it. Fry the meatballs in the pan. Fry the meat in the pan and set aside for a moment.
Soak the pan in butter and flour. Stir well. Add the cream and tomato puree. Season with soy and sugar.
Add the bacon meatballs to the pan and cook for a few minutes under the lid. Cut one in half and check for doneness. Add a little water to the pan if the sauce threatens to dry out. Serve the bacon meatballs immediately.
