2 pcs egg 1 pcs baguette 1 handful arugula pcs fresh black pepper pcs rock salt 100 g smoked salmon 4 pcs cherry tomatoes 50 g cheddar 1 dl apple cider vinegar 20 g butter 2 sprigs of oregano

The recipe comes from the United States. There are many stories about its origin. According to one version, the combination was first ordered in 1894 at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel by stockbroker Lemuel Benedict, who wanted to get rid of a “morning hangover” with the help of this dish. And that’s why I recommend serving it as breakfast or brunch on Saturday or any other day 🙂

bring the water to the boil

add vinegar and salt

tip: use a spoon to swirl the water in the pot and add the egg. Cook for 3 min. repeat progress according to number of servings

Melt butter in a skillet and add fresh oregano and toast gluten-free baguette. Add cherry tomatoes as well.

Serve – put cheddar cheese on the gluten free baguette and melt it with a flambé gun. Garnish with arugula, smoked salmon and tomato. Place the prepared egg benedict (poached egg) on top. Season to taste.
