Recipe preparation
1 Cut the potatoes into small cubes and blend in a blender. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Beat in the whole egg and add salt to taste.2 Add the plain and semi-coarse flour alternately until a stiffer dough is formed. Add the water to a large saucepan and, when it comes to the boil, spoon the gnocchi into the boiling water through a sieve with large holes (called a ‘trdlo’). 3 When the gnocchi have risen to the surface, cook them for a further 5 minutes or so and then rinse them with lukewarm water. 4 Stir the cheese into the warm gnocchi.
