French Sweet Toast

Classic sweet French breakfast, slices of toasted bread stuck together with cinnamon butter, then coated in a batter of egg, cinnamon, milk and sugar, fried nicely until golden brown, served sprinkled with sugar or topped with syrup.

Ingredients:

Rule for 2 servings: 4 pieces of toasted bread 1/4 cup of milk 2 tablespoons of the finest clarified butter 1 tablespoon 2 tsp ground cinnamon powdered sugar for sprinkling crystal sugar For cinnamon butter: 100 g of softened butter 50 g of caster sugar 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla sugar Other: syrup, such as maple, small fruit….

Procedure:

Make the cinnamon butter; mix the softened, softened butter with the cinnamon, vanilla and caster sugar, preferably using a fork in a bowl to form a solid mass of cinnamon butter.

Soak two slices of toasted bread liberally with cinnamon butter, cover with unbuttered slices of toasted bread, pressing them together.

In a suitable bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, season with cinnamon and sugar.

In a pan, heat the clarified butter (you can also use regular butter, but only at a lower temperature).

Gradually fry the toast coated in the egg mixture, first on one side, sprinkle them with granulated sugar (the sugar caramelizes during frying), then after 2 to 3 minutes, turn them over and fry them on the other side, nicely golden brown, and put them on plates.

Serve the French toast still hot, just like that, sprinkled with icing sugar, or you can top them with some syrup.
