Soup with flavour
Although soup should be eaten at any time, it is particularly enjoyable in the cooler months. It just somehow creates such a cosy and warm feeling. Salmon soup is definitely one of my favourites. So, I’ve put together a very simple and quick salmon soup recipe that the whole family will love. It’s especially nice to make after a busy day when you want something tasty to eat quickly.
The earliest references to making soup date back to 20,000 years BC. Before the advent of waterproof vessels, people used animal skins and waterproof cream or reed straws to boil water. In later periods, clay vessels were used to boil soup.
The word “restaurant” is also associated with soup. The word restaurant was introduced in France in the 16th century to refer to a highly concentrated, cheap soup sold on the streets and advertised as a remedy for physical exhaustion. In 1765, a Parisian trader opened a shop selling only soup. This prompted the use of the modern word restaurant for eating places.
While making salmon soup is a relatively quick and easy activity in any case, it can be made even more convenient by using frozen vegetable mixes. I used the Härmavilja summer soup mix, but other variations will do. Another good thing about frozen vegetable mixes is that they are higher in vitamins and nutrients than the fresh produce sold out of season.
Flavour soup is a quick and easy meal that almost all fish lovers will enjoy. I’ve even noticed that if some kids don’t like soup that much, salmon soup still tastes good. What’s more, it uses relatively few ingredients and with frozen Vegetable Recipes, you don’t even need to chop them. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner and takes very little time to prepare. Enjoy your soup!
