Folded cabbage

Baked sauerkraut together with rice, minced meat and other ingredients. Recipe originally from Hungary, which is also very popular with Slovaks.

Ingredients:

750 g of sauerkraut 400 g ground pork 200 g cooked long grain rice 250 g of sour cream 2 pcs garlic cloves 2 pcs onions red peppers fat cumin water pepper salt

Procedure:

Rinse sauerkraut, reduce its acidity, cut into smaller pieces.

Cook the rice with a little curry powder until tender, drain, rinse, drain.

Heat the lard in a pan, add chopped onion, let it brown, add minced meat, which we crumble, season with salt, pepper, crushed garlic, when the meat is soft, mix with cooked rice.

Grease the baking pan with lard, spread a layer of cabbage on the bottom, spread a layer of meat with rice on the cabbage, season each layer with salt, pepper, red pepper. Continue until you fill the baking dish, there should be a layer of cabbage on top.

Place in preheated oven, bake at 200 °C for 30 minutes. After half an hour, pour sour cream over, dust with sweet red pepper, bake for another 15 minutes. Serve the folded cabbage warm, sprinkle parsley on the plate.
