Dump cakes are one of the easiest – and most delicious – desserts you can make. All you need is a cake mix, some fruit (fresh or canned), and a little melted butter. That’s it!
There are endless flavor combinations you can try with dump cakes. For this recipe, we used a yellow cake mix and canned cherry pie filling. But you could also use a white or chocolate cake mix with blueberry, raspberry, or blackberry pie filling. The possibilities are endless!
To make the cake, simply mix together the cake mix, fruit, and melted butter. Then pour it into a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. That’s it!
Dump cakes are best served warm, straight from the oven. But they’re also pretty delicious at room temperature or even cold. If you want to dress them up a bit, you can serve them with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream on top. But honestly, they’re pretty darn good just as they are.
