This recipe was created out of laziness š We had plums and were craving plum balls. I just didnāt feel like making them the classic way, they often tear, open up when cooking or then again thereās too much dough on them. So I made the balls separately and the famous plum sauce separately š
1. Boil the potatoes in the skin. Let cool a bit, peel. And mash. I find it works well to āmashā the potatoes in a meat grinder so I donāt have lumps in the potato batter, I donāt like it. 2. Put the potatoes, cottage cheese, egg in a bowl (I made a big batch of dough in the freezer, thatās why there are two eggs in the photo). Stir. Progressively add flour as needed. Knead an almost non-sticky dough. 3. Use a spoon to scrape off bits of dough and make small balls. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan and roll into balls. Once the balls have floated, cook for about 10 minutes. 4. Prune the plums. Cut into smaller pieces and place in the pan. Cover with a little water and simmer. When the plums start to soften add a little sugar, rum, simmer for a while. Stir and serve with balls
