Recipe for a quick way to make fresh Italian flatbread. It is delicious and suitable as a side dish for breakfast or dinner.
1.
Pour lukewarm water into a large bowl and sprinkle the yeast into it. Stir well with a fork until completely dissolved.
2.
Gradually add the flour and stir until a thick mass is formed.
3.
Work the dough well in a bowl with a spoon, cover with a tea towel and leave in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour.
4.
Make the garnish. Cut the tomatoes into marigolds, chop the onion and garlic finely and chop the olives into rounds.
5.
Line the tray with baking paper and brush the sides with oil.
6.
Transfer the risen dough from the bowl to a floured board and shape into a loaf.
7.
Transfer the loaf to a baking sheet, stretch the dough and use your hands to stretch it to the size of the baking sheet. Then brush the surface generously with oil and salt, rub the oil and salt thoroughly with your fingers and press into the dough to form the wells.
8.
Distribute the prepared garnish on the dough, pat well, sprinkle with sunflower seeds and let it rise for about 10 minutes.
9.
Then turn on the oven and preheat to 250 °C. Place the prepared focaccia in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
10.
Let the baked focaccia cool on a wire rack, slice and eat. Enjoy!
