Meatballs in tomato sauce are always a good idea and you can combine them with a variety of side dishes.
1.
Make a mixture of minced meat, chopped onion, crushed garlic, eggs, chopped spinach, breadcrumbs, salt and spices into balls.
2.
Shape the mixture into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle with oil.
3.
Bake the balls at 180°C for about 25 minutes.
4.
Sauce: fry the chopped onion with the chopped garlic in a large saucepan in oil. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
5.
When the onions soften, add the tomatoes and let them bubble while you add the broth and add a few fresh oregano leaves and a chili pepper.
6.
Simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes, season with sugar, add salt and whole basil leaves if necessary.
7.
Place the onions in the sauce, reheat everything together and then serve with boiled potatoes, in a baguette with grated cheese or with pasta and Parmesan cheese.
