As a kid, I was always “happy” when I opened the door to my apartment and the smell of cake wafted from the kitchen. A classic, perhaps, but it wouldn’t be Sunday without it, and it wouldn’t be Sunday without licking the bowl. Although my mom doesn’t make this recipe for me anymore, I try to stay true to this tradition for my daughter.
1.
Beat 4 egg whites with stiff whipping cream and vanilla sugar.
2.
In a second bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until thick.
3.
Add milk, oil, water and flour with baking powder.Beat until smooth.
4.
Divide the mixture into two parts. Add cocoa or my enhancement nutella to one and directly proportional snow to both mixtures.
5.
Pour into a greased and floured cake tin. Bake at 150 degrees for about 45minutes. Do not open the oven for the first 30 mins so it doesn’t burn and then test with a toothpick to see if it is cooked inside.
6.
If you like a change, you can add chocolate chips or nuts to the batter.
7.
Good taste!
